Don’t Tell Yourself Not to Tell Yourself Not to Panic and Follow Me

In front of the Neue Wache in Berlin, I performed "In Case of an Emergency" movements, in a choreography influenced by preflight safety demonstrations. Today, the Neue Wache functions as the "Central Memorial of the Federal Republic of Germany for the Victims of War and Dictatorship". By performing in this specific site, I have questioned and critiqued our assumption about our responsibility for current victims of crucial times of emergency, in relation, and perhaps contrast, to the well institutionalized memory of victims of past wars.
