Public Reading of the Daily Newspaper
Participatory Project | 2016
Public Reading of the Daily Newspaper is a participatory project I conducted at Weimar’s Marktplatz. On June 2016, I invited people that were at the Marktplatz to read one of the many choices of the daily newspapers from a wide political spectrum and to choose an article that they stand for. After choosing the article I invited them to read it aloud on a podium. Inviting the people to participate in this work was in fact a request to take a stand about something they believe in and stand for, whatever it may be, and to share it publicly.

The contingency element that lied at the core of the Public Reading project provided many insights about issues as privacy, locality, social engagement and the thin border between private and public space.
